Fingertip Controls
The ergonomic design of the multifunction handgrip places important functions such as ISO, WB, and shutter buttons at your fingertips. For quick iris adjustments, there's even a scroll wheel under your index finger! Additional controls go beyond what you'd find on a DSLR, so you won't have to sift through menus on a tiny screen to find a command! The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera has easy-to-reach recording and still buttons that are precisely where you expect them to be, as well as user-assignable function keys that enable buttons for high frame rate, focus zoom, false color, and more. In addition, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro includes additional ND filter controls.

Lenses for Cinema & Photography
The native sensor resolution of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K is 4096 x 2160, while the native sensor resolution of the 6K models is 6144 x 3456. Whether shooting in bright sunlight or almost no light, the 13-stop dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25,600 provide stunning low-noise images in all lighting conditions. In addition, the 6K models have a larger Super 35 sensor, which allows for shallow depth of field and anamorphic lenses. All models support up to 60 frames per second in full resolution or 120 frames per second in windowed mode. With an incredible sensor and Blackmagic color science, you get the same imaging technology as the most expensive digital film cameras.

Photograph Stunning HDR Images
The distance between the lightest and darkest parts of an image is measured in stops and is known as dynamic range. Pocket Cinema Cameras have an incredible dynamic range of 13 stops, which means they can preserve more detail in the image's lightest and darkest areas than standard video cameras. This enables you to set exposure for an indoor scene, such as a cafe, while retaining the details of bright outdoor light streaming through a window. There are also more colors than in the standard DCI-P3 colorspace used in feature films. Plus, DaVinci Resolve Studio is included with the camera, giving you complete creative freedom when color grading with full exposure adjustment and recovery controls!

Dual ISO for Superior Low-Light Performance
ISO is a measurement of the image sensor's sensitivity to light in digital film. This means that the higher the ISO number, the greater the sensitivity to light, allowing you to shoot with natural light even at night! The Pocket Cinema Cameras have dual gain ISO up to 25,600, which means they're designed to minimize grain or noise in images while preserving the sensor's full dynamic range. The native ISO of 400 is ideal for on-set lighting scenes. The secondary high base ISO of 3200 is ideal for shooting in low-light situations. When you don't have time to set up lights, the gain is automatically adjusted as you adjust the ISO setting, making it simple to capture great images.

File Formats for Post-Production
Pocket Cinema by Blackmagic Design Cameras record in standard open file formats, eliminating the need to waste time transcoding media. The files are compatible with all post-production software, so you can use your preferred software or the included DaVinci Resolve Studio. Work is recorded in industry standard 10-bit Apple ProRes files in all formats up to 4K or 12-bit Blackmagic RAW files in all formats up to 6K. Blackmagic RAW is the most popular RAW format. Developers can add support to their applications by downloading and using the free Blackmagic RAW SDK. Best of all, media files are compatible with all operating systems, and media cards and disks can be formatted in HFS+ for Mac and ExFAT for Windows.

Frame rates and multiple resolutions
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, depending on the model, can shoot in all standard resolutions and frame rates ranging from HD to DCI 4K and even 6K. Stills can be captured at 21.2 megapixels on 6K models and 8.8 megapixels on 4K models. The 6K models will shoot at up to 50 frames per second at 6144 x 3456 16:9, 60 frames per second at 6144 x 2560 2.4:1, and 60 frames per second at 5744 x 3024 17:9. You can window the sensor and shoot up to 120 fps at 2.8K 2868 x 1512 17:9 for higher frame rates. You can even work in true anamorphic 6:5 using anamorphic lenses at 3728 x 3104 at 3.7K 60 fps. On the 4K model, you can shoot up to 60 frames per second in 4K DCI at 4096 x 2160 and 60 frames per second in Ultra HD at 3840 x 2160. You can even shoot at 120 frames per second in 1080HD!

Storage
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera has CFast and SD UHS-II card recorders built in, as well as a USB-C expansion port for recording directly to an external media disk. When using Blackmagic RAW, you can use regular SD cards for HD or higher performance UHS-II and CFast cards for native 4K or 6K. Consider capturing an hour's worth of full-resolution 6K images on a single 256GB SD UHS-II card! All video software supports ProRes and Blackmagic RAW files. You can even connect the media cards to your computer and begin editing right away with the included DaVinci Resolve Studio software!

Raw Blackmagic
Blackmagic RAW is a ground-breaking new format that captures and preserves the quality of sensor data from your camera. H.264 video formats are highly compressed and add noise and strange artifacts, causing original sensor detail to be lost forever. This problem is solved by Blackmagic RAW, which provides stunning images with incredible detail and color throughout the production pipeline, from camera to edit, color, and mastering. It also saves camera settings as metadata, allowing you to set ISO, white balance, and exposure in camera or override them later during editing without losing quality! Blackmagic RAW files are also small and quick to load, making them simple to use. Only Blackmagic RAW provides the best image quality, smallest file size, and fastest performance!

Touchscreen for Simple Setup
The large LCD touchscreen provides access to camera setup menus as well as critical information on the heads up display, or HUD. With a single tap, you can see and adjust settings like frame rate, iris, timecode, shutter angle, white balance, ISO, audio levels, and more. Swiping up or down will reveal or hide the HUD. Simply touch the WB indicator to adjust settings like white balance, or the audio meters to change the levels. Everything is interactive, so you can tap any item to change settings without having to navigate through confusing menus! You can also quickly add metadata to any shot by accessing settings such as the digital slate.

5" LCD Monitor
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera has a large, bright 5 inch touchscreen that makes it simple to frame shots and focus accurately. This eliminates the need for you to carry around an external monitor! Overlays on the screen display status and record parameters, histograms, focus peaking indicators, levels, frame guides, and other information. 3D LUTs can be quickly applied to monitor shots to achieve the desired color and look. The LCD monitor on the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 and Pro models is a more advanced HDR display that can be tilted up and down to view your shot from any angle. Furthermore, the HDR display on the 6K Pro model has a brightness of 1500 nits, making it ideal for use in bright sunlight!

Skin tones & accurate color reproduction
The new Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, which uses the same generation 5 color science as the high-end URSA Mini Pro 12K, delivers an even greater advancement in image quality, with stunning, accurate skin tones and faithful color in every shot. A new dynamic 12-bit gamma curve is included, designed to capture more color data in highlights and shadows for better-looking images. Color science also handles some of the more complex Blackmagic RAW image processing, preserving color and dynamic range data from the sensor via metadata that can be used in post production. That means images with a natural, film-like response to color adjustments in DaVinci Resolve Studio.

Built-in microphones
You'll never need to carry around a separate sound recorder again with professional, high-fidelity audio recording built in! For connecting professional microphones such as lapel mics and booms, Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras have a mini XLR input with 48 volts of phantom power. The 6K Pro model has two mini XLR connections, allowing you to record two separate audio tracks with two microphones without using an external mixer. The four built-in microphones have an extremely low noise floor and are shock and wind resistant, allowing them to capture great sound in any environment. A 3.5mm audio input is also provided for connecting video camera microphones, as well as a built-in speaker for playback and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

USB-C for Direct Recording to External Media
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera has an innovative and fast USB-C Expansion Port that can transfer data at up to 5 Gb/s. Most new computers support USB-C, which also provides power. This means you can connect external devices like flash drives and SSDs to record for significantly longer periods of time. A fast external disk enables shooting 6K in the highest consistent quality 12-bit Blackmagic RAW in the Q0 mode or at high frame rates. Best of all, once the shooting is finished, simply connect the external disk to your computer and begin editing and color correction from the same disk, eliminating the need for file copying.

Integrated Timecode Generator
Professional cameras include professional features, such as a built-in timecode generator, which allows you to shoot with multiple cameras while maintaining perfect sync! Simply plug an external timecode generator, such as Tentacle Sync, into the 3.5 mm audio jack, and the camera will detect and lock the internal generator. Each camera can now start and stop recording, and all shots from all cameras have the same matched timecode. Imagine filming a music festival with roving cameras! Best of all, DaVinci Resolve will automatically find and sync shots from all cameras, saving you time sorting through thousands of shots!

Shoots up to 21.2 Megapixel still frames!
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera can capture high-resolution stills in addition to video. Simply press the dedicated stills button on the 6K models to capture 21.2 megapixel images or 8 megapixel images on the 4K model. Still images are saved as fully uncompressed DNG frames, resulting in the highest image quality, ideal for making professional prints. Capturing still images is useful for maintaining continuity between shots or for sharing images with clients who are not on set.
