The Panasonic KAIROS Core 100 is designed to support a 100Gb network and comes with a more modest GPU, making it an ideal choice for those looking for an entry-level option. A straightforward system can be constructed using a single KC100 along with Deltacast input modules or a small 100Gb network switch and ST 2110 gateways. This setup will be able to handle a 32 x 16 3G SDI configuration. This system is highly versatile and suitable for a variety of settings, including Houses of Worship, small TV Stations, and multi-room AV deployments in corporate or college campuses. It can also be utilized for a straightforward multicamera production and is particularly effective for a hybrid remote production, which combines remote streaming and local base-band inputs.

The KAIROS Core serves as a processing mainframe. Although the Kairos Creator is a user-friendly desktop application for both PC and Mac, the KAIROS Core operates on a robust Linux server designed for enterprise use. This ensures greater stability and eliminates the need for frequent operating system updates or desktop maintenance. KAIROS Core is built to operate continuously, ensuring 247 uninterrupted availability.


Audio and Video Inputs

KAIROS offers comprehensive support for a wide range of input and output signals, including baseband signals (12G/3G/HD-SDI, HDMI, Display Port) and IP packets (ST 2110, NDI®*1, RTP). Furthermore, the SRT*2 streaming protocol is available to provide enhanced stability and security, alongside RTP, RTMP, and RTSP. Every KAIROS Core is limited by the IP Network Bandwidth in terms of the maximum number of simultaneous inputs it can handle. With a 100Gb core, you have the flexibility to connect thirty-two 3G-SDI inputs eight simultaneous 12G inputs, or a combination of both. This does not restrict the entire KAIROS system; rather, it pertains solely to the processing capacity of a single core (excluding internal sources such as a RAM player). With just a simple click, additional sources can be instantly accessible on the network.

Streaming/Compressed Inputs and Outputs

KAIROS is capable of accepting compressed streaming inputs through the GB control network. The CPU decodes these inputs, allowing them to be processed alongside other uncompressed sources.
The effectiveness of the KAIROS Core CPU determines the capacity for incoming and outgoing streaming inputs on the control network. For the integration of additional streaming inputs, it is necessary to have a separate gateway that can decode the streams and convert them to ST 2110 or baseband.

Outputs

The outputs produced by each KAIROS Core are determined by the GPU specific to that core. This encompasses the highest possible number of outputs and the total number of layers for the core. Layers are distributed evenly across all the outputs.
A KAIROS Core with 16 outputs may have limitations when it comes to creating scenes with multiple layers on all 16 outputs. Furthermore, by harnessing the capabilities of a more advanced KAIROS Core, it is possible to construct a KAIROS system with multiple cores operating within the same network.
