AJA T-TAP Pro is a small, silent, and portable ThunderboltTM 3-connected device that enables easy monitoring and output of 4K/UltraHD and 2K/HD/SD content through 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 on compatible Mac® and PC computers. T-TAP Pro delivers high-quality video monitoring across a range of production settings, including support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) for high frame rate (HFR) and big raster workflows from a ThunderboltTM 3 host machine.

AJA T-TAP Pro is highly compatible with industry-standard creative applications for editorial, graphics, effects, color, and streaming, including Apple® Final Cut Pro®; Adobe® Premiere® Pro, After Effects®, Audition®, and Character Animator®; Avid® Media Composer® and Pro Tools®; and others. For audio workflows, T-TAP Pro includes embedded multi-channel audio on SDI and HDMI, as well as a 3.5mm stereo analog audio connection that enables editors or digital artists to connect headphones directly to the device or to an external analog audio mixer.

Up to UltraHD and 4K 60p
AJA's T-TAP Pro is an affordable, ultra-compact device that leverages Thunderbolt 3 to deliver high-quality 10- and 12-bit up to UltraHD or 4K 60p video and embedded audio from any compatible Mac or PC.
T-TAP Pro directly supports HDR-dependent monitoring workflows across a number of HDR formats, including HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), PQ, and HDR10, with support for Dolby Vision possible via additional third-party application integration.
AJA's Desktop software version 16 now supports HDR over SDI using VPID signaling for both SDR and HDR characteristics. A new HDR Tab in the AJA Control Panel now signals HDR simultaneously over SDI and HDMI.
AJA Control Room reads HDR metadata embedded in.mov files during playback and uses it to automatically set Control Panel to signal HDR in the appropriate way, simplifying the workflow chain.
With T-TAP Pro and appropriately captured/rendered HDR files, AJA Control Room can detect the HDR format automatically, and T-TAP Pro can adjust its output via 12G-SDI or HDMI accordingly.
4K Closed Caption Support
When used in conjunction with T-TAP Pro, AJA Control Room software now supports the ingest and playback of 4K content with Closed Captions.
Thunderbolt 3 Connectivity
T-TAP Pro's Thunderbolt 3 port connects easily to a wide variety of Apple and Windows laptops and desktops, enabling instant professional video and audio output from your favorite creative application.
Thunderbolt 3 is widely compatible with both Mac and Windows computers and provides the massive bandwidth required for professional 4K video, audio, and data transmission.
T-TAP Pro includes outputs for 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0. The SDI output can power professional monitors or recording equipment, while the HDMI output can power consumer HDMI monitors directly. Both HDMI and SDI are active at all times, allowing you to work with both professional and consumer monitors concurrently.
Flexible Audio Control
On the front left of the T-TAP Pro is a 3.5mm stereo analog audio connection for headphone monitoring. This is a critical feature for editors or digital artists working from home, as it enables them to easily create privacy without sacrificing performance. You can either directly connect headphones or route the signal to an external analog audio mixer for additional options. T-TAP Pro is an elegant solution for monitoring audio using readily available off-the-shelf tools and avoiding cumbersome de-embedding.
As is the case with other AJA Thunderbolt-connected devices, the monitor audio is selected and controlled via the AJA Control Panel's Audio Setup Tab. With a single click and selection, any pair of channels from 1&2 to 7&8 up to 15&16 can be monitored. T-TAP Pro's signal flow and control options are depicted in the diagram above. Additionally, the T-TAP Pro's front panel includes audio reference meters to enhance its monitoring capabilities.
