The Lynx Technik yellobrik ORX-1702-ST Analog Sync/Video ST Fiber Optic Receiver is a fiber optic receiver with analog sync or NTSC/PAL composite video. This technology is specifically developed to overcome the limitations associated with the long-distance dissemination of broadcast quality analog reference and composite video signals. When combined with the OTX 1712 fiber optic transmitter, you have a very low-cost optical transmission system for analog sync reference signals or NTSC/PAL composite video. This device is very important for distributing reference sync across faraway installations in order to ensure proper synchronization. The ORX 1702 features technologies to preserve a very high degree of sync and burst phase stability during fiber reception and analog conversion, unlike other relatively basic analog-to-fiber conversion solutions.

Before being converted to an analog signal, the module receives an SDI signal (containing reference and other important information). When the ORX 1702 is used with 525 or 625 SDI video sources, the signal can be converted straight to an analog NTSC or PAL composite output. For example, suppose you receive a 525 or 625 signal from an SDI video transmitter OTX 1812. The ORX 1702 has two analog outputs and may connect to LC, ST, or SC single-mode fiber. There is also an LC version appropriate for multimode fiber.
