Description
Product Overview
Tentacle Sync Tentacle to DIN 1.0/2.3 Cable is a bidirectional timecode adapter cable for linking a Tentacle Sync E or ORIGINAL generator with equipment that uses a DIN 1.0/2.3 timecode connection. It can feed timecode from the Tentacle unit into compatible devices, including the Canon EOS R5 C and Atomos UltraSync ONE TCG.
The signal path also works in the opposite direction, allowing a Tentacle device to be jam-synced from an external DIN 1.0/2.3 timecode source. The cable uses a right-angle 3.5 mm Neutrik mini jack on the Tentacle side and a straight DIN 1.0/2.3 connector on the other, with an overall length of 30 cm (11.8").
Highlights
- Bidirectional timecode operation – supports both feeding timecode out from a Tentacle unit and receiving external timecode for jam sync
- Tentacle Sync E and ORIGINAL support – designed for direct use with both Tentacle timecode generator families
- DIN 1.0/2.3 device compatibility – supports compatible equipment such as the Canon EOS R5 C and Atomos UltraSync ONE TCG
- Right-angle 3.5 mm Neutrik mini jack – keeps the Tentacle-side connection compact around camera and rig hardware
- 30 cm cable length – keeps timecode wiring short and manageable in production setups

Why It Helps
The useful part of this cable is that it works both ways. A Tentacle Sync E or ORIGINAL can feed timecode into a DIN 1.0/2.3-equipped device, but the same cable can also bring an external timecode source back into the Tentacle for jam sync.
That makes the cable useful in mixed timecode setups where the Tentacle is not always the master clock. On one job it can drive the camera; on another it can take reference from another source and fall into line with the rest of the system.
The short 30 cm run also makes sense on compact rigs. The right-angle 3.5 mm connector turns away from the Tentacle unit instead of sticking straight out, while the DIN 1.0/2.3 end keeps the camera-side connection direct and tidy.
