OBSBOT Tail Air Remote Combo

OBSBOT Tail Air Remote Combo is a compact PTZ package built for real-world streaming and small production workflows where you want the camera to hold framing without a dedicated operator. In the box you get the Tail Air PTZ camera, the Smart Remote Controller, and the NDI license key, so you can run it as a standard HDMI/USB camera or place it directly into an IP workflow.

From a production standpoint, Tail Air shines when you need repeatable coverage in a fixed space: classrooms, training rooms, worship, meetings, small studios, and live demos. Set your shot, enable tracking, and the camera handles pan and tilt (and zoom where supported by the control mode) so you are not constantly riding framing during the session.

• Ethernet / PoE: Supported via adapter for more stable installs when Wi-Fi is not production-grade.

Tracking Modes

Tail Air is built to be set-and-run, but the tracking mode matters depending on the job:

• Human Tracking: Ideal for presenters and talk-to-camera work. Once locked, the camera keeps framing consistently as you move.
• Animal Tracking: Useful for trainers, demos, and unpredictable movement where the subject does not move like a human presenter.
• Object Tracking: Handy for product demos or following a point of interest on a table, lectern, or stage.

Low-Light and Occlusion Behavior

Tracking usually fails when lighting drops, movement speeds up, or something crosses the frame. Tail Air leans on infrared plus Time of Flight depth sensing to maintain focus and subject awareness in dim scenes and during short occlusions. In plain terms, when lighting gets ugly or someone walks through the shot, it is more likely to recover cleanly instead of hunting or losing the target.

Multiview (AI Director Grids)

AI Director Grids acts like a quick switching tool inside the camera ecosystem. It can present multiple framing options, including auto framing and preset previews, so you can change the look quickly without manually re-aiming the camera. For solo operators, this is a practical way to keep the stream visually dynamic without adding a second camera.

Gesture Control 2.0

Gesture control is most useful when you are working alone and cannot reach a control surface. Tail Air supports gestures for start and stop recording, lock and unlock tracking, and zoom adjustments for tighter or wider framing from a distance. Treat it as a convenience layer, while the remote and software remain the reliable path for production work.

NDI|HX3 (License Included)

NDI|HX3 is a key reason this kit fits modern streaming setups. With NDI enabled, Tail Air can send video, audio, and control metadata over the network, reducing cabling and simplifying multi-camera routing. It can run over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, but Ethernet is strongly preferred when the network is busy or the environment is RF-noisy.
