Description
Product Overview
Matrox Maevex MGX D2 Dual 4K60 Decoder is built for AV-over-IP installations that need more decoding capacity at the display end of the system. It can decode two 4K60 streams at the same time, or handle up to eight 1080p60 streams, giving engineers more room to build multi-screen and multiview endpoints from a single appliance.
The D2 supports H.265 and H.264 video along with IPMX, Matrox IQ Mode, RTP/RTSP, SRT, and MPEG2-TS. Two HDMI outputs, dual 1/2.5 GbE network ports, USB extension, analog audio connections, and built-in display compositing make it useful for control rooms, corporate AV, remote workstations, and other distributed video systems.

Why It Helps
The D2 makes sense at an endpoint where one screen is not enough. Instead of assigning a decoder to every individual display feed, it can handle two 4K60 streams or several 1080p60 sources from the same unit. That gives system designers more flexibility when building operator stations, monitoring walls, or multi-display rooms.
Its compositing tools are also useful when several sources need to share the same display. Picture-in-picture, picture-by-picture, and quadrant layouts can be created inside the decoder, so a basic multiview does not automatically require another processor in the signal path.
For interactive installations, USB support keeps the workstation experience at the remote end. Keyboards, mice, and webcams can connect through the decoder while the source equipment stays elsewhere on the IP network. Dual 1/2.5 GbE connections and multiple transport options make the unit easier to work into different network designs.
