Description

Product Overview

Matrox Maevex MGX D1 Single 4K60 Decoder is designed for professional AV-over-IP systems that need to bring compressed network video back to local displays with low latency. It decodes H.265 or H.264 streams and can output either one 4K60 signal or two 1080p60 signals through its two HDMI outputs.

The MGX D1 supports both IPMX and Matrox IQ Mode, along with RTP/RTSP, SRT, and MPEG2-TS. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB extension, multiview layouts, and NMOS discovery make it a practical endpoint for control rooms, corporate AV, remote workstations, and other distributed video systems.

Highlights

  • Single 4K60 decoding – decodes one stream up to 4K60
  • Dual 1080p60 output option – can decode and display two 1080p60 streams
  • H.265 and H.264 support – handles efficient compressed AV-over-IP transport
  • IPMX and Matrox IQ Mode – supports low-latency professional IP media workflows
  • Multiview support – provides 2x1 and 2x2 layouts, including PiP, PbP, and quadrant modes
  • USB extension – supports keyboard, mouse, and webcam connections at the decoder

Why It Helps

The MGX D1 is useful when a remote display needs to receive 4K or multi-view video without bringing the source equipment into the room. It takes the network stream, decodes it locally, and gives operators direct HDMI outputs at the endpoint.

Its ability to decode either one 4K60 stream or two 1080p60 streams makes the same unit useful for both single-screen and multi-view installations. Built-in compositing also means PiP, picture-by-picture, or quadrant layouts can be handled inside the decoder instead of relying on another processor.

USB extension adds another layer to the workflow. A keyboard, mouse, or webcam can stay at the viewing location while the source system remains elsewhere on the network, which is useful for control rooms, meeting spaces, and remote workstation setups.

System Characteristics

  • 4K60 AV-over-IP decoding brings high-resolution network video back to local HDMI displays
  • Dual-stream operation supports two 1080p60 feeds from one decoder
  • Integrated multiview reduces the need for a separate display processor
  • Multi-protocol support allows deployment across IPMX, Matrox IQ Mode, RTP/RTSP, SRT, and MPEG2-TS networks
  • USB extension supports interactive remote workstation and collaboration use
  • NMOS discovery and control helps the decoder fit into standards-based IP media systems
