Description

Product Overview

Matrox Extio N3408 IP KVM Transmitter Card installs directly into a workstation to bring that system into an Extio 3 IP KVM environment. It carries display, USB, audio, and control traffic over standard Gigabit Ethernet, letting the computer stay in a secure machine room while the operator works from a remote desk or control position.

The card is built for high-resolution and multi-display workflows, with three Mini DisplayPort 1.1 inputs and one Mini DisplayPort 1.2 input. Extio N3408 supports 4K60 4:4:4 applications as well as multi-screen desktops, while the network side can run over copper or optional fiber depending on the distance and installation.

Highlights

  • PCIe IP KVM transmitter – connects a host workstation directly to the Matrox Extio 3 environment
  • 4K60 4:4:4 support – built for detailed high-resolution desktop and professional visualization workflows
  • Multi-display operation – supports several display signals from one workstation
  • Gigabit Ethernet transport – carries KVM traffic over standard 1 GbE network infrastructure
  • Copper or fiber connectivity – lets engineers choose the physical transport around distance and installation requirements
  • Flexible KVM routing – supports unicast, multicast, and multi-unicast operation

Why It Helps

In broadcast, post-production, control-room, and visualization environments, the workstation often belongs in the equipment room rather than under the operator's desk. The N3408 transmitter card lets that computer stay centralized while its displays, USB peripherals, audio, and control are delivered to the working position over the IP network.

The card also gives engineers room to build larger desktops. High-resolution 4K60 operation and multi-display support make it suitable for workstations that need several screens for monitoring, graphics, editing, control, or other data-heavy applications.

Distance does not have to dictate where the workstation sits. Copper links can reach 100 meters, while optional fiber can extend the connection considerably farther. Over IP, Extio systems can also work across a LAN, private WAN, or internet connection when the network is suitable for the application.

System Characteristics

  • Remote workstation access keeps computers centralized while operator positions stay clean and quiet
  • 4K60 and multi-display support suits high-resolution broadcast, control-room, and visualization desktops
  • Standard 1 GbE transport lets the KVM system use conventional network infrastructure
  • Copper and optional fiber support gives integrators flexibility around short and long cable runs
  • Scalable IP routing supports point-to-point and larger networked KVM architectures
  • Extio Central Manager support provides centralized management for networked Extio devices
