Description
Product Overview
Matrox Extio N3208 IP KVM (Receiver Appliance) brings a remote operator position into an Extio 3 IP KVM system. It receives video, USB, audio, and control signals over standard Gigabit Ethernet, allowing the source workstation to remain in a machine room while displays and peripherals stay at the desk, control room, or other working position.
The receiver can drive two DisplayPort monitors at up to 1920 × 1200 at 60 Hz or a single display at up to 2560 × 1600 at 60 Hz. Four USB 2.0 ports handle keyboards, mice, touchscreens, storage, smart-card readers, speakers, and other supported USB devices, while analog audio and RS-232 connections cover additional operator-side equipment.
Highlights
- Dual-display IP KVM receiver – supports two remote displays from a Matrox Extio 3 KVM source

Why It Helps
In a broadcast control room, post-production suite, or other secure workspace, the computer does not always need to sit beside the operator. The N3208 receiver lets the workstation stay centralized while the operator still gets local access to displays, keyboard, mouse, USB devices, audio, and control signals.
The dual-display output is useful for desks that rely on more than one screen. Two 1920 × 1200 displays can be driven from the receiver, or the operator can use one higher-resolution 2560 × 1600 display when the workflow calls for a larger single desktop.
The network side is flexible enough for both short and long runs. Copper can cover distances up to 100 meters, while optional fiber can extend the link much farther. Extio can also operate across LAN, private WAN, or internet connections when the network conditions are suitable.
System Characteristics
- Remote workstation access keeps source computers away from the operator while preserving local control
- Dual-monitor operation supports multi-screen control-room and production desktops
- USB, audio, and RS-232 extension carries more than video through the same KVM environment
- Secure IP transport uses AES encryption and enterprise authentication tools to protect KVM traffic
- Redundant network capability helps reduce the risk of losing access if a primary link fails
- Centralized Extio management supports discovery, configuration, connection management, and monitoring of networked Extio devices
