Product Overview
Magewell Pro Convert NDI to HDMI and SDI Module is a hot-swappable IP video decoder for Magewell Modator systems. It converts NDI High Bandwidth, NDI HX, NDI HX2, NDI HX3, SRT, H.264, H.265, and other supported network streams into simultaneous HDMI and SDI outputs at resolutions up to 1920 × 1080p60. Centralized management through the Modator chassis, Web UI, Control Hub, and HTTP APIs supports broadcast, live production, AV-over-IP, monitoring, and high-density rack workflows.
1080p60 NDI Video Decoding
Decode network video at resolutions up to 1920 × 1080p60 for professional monitoring and baseband distribution. Supported video formats include SpeedHQ, H.264, and H.265, giving the module flexibility across NDI and compressed IP video workflows.
NDI High Bandwidth HX2 HX3
The NDI decoder supports NDI High Bandwidth, NDI HX, NDI HX2, and NDI HX3 sources. Magewell currently specifies NDI 6.3 support, making the module suitable for current network-based production and distribution environments.
Simultaneous HDMI and 3G-SDI Output
A decoded IP source can be output simultaneously through HDMI and SDI at up to 1920 × 1080p60. This makes the module useful for feeding professional displays, routers, switchers, confidence monitors, and existing baseband infrastructure from the same network source.
Hot-Swappable Modator Module
The decoder installs directly into the Magewell Modator 2U chassis through its dedicated Modator interface. Hot-swappable module architecture supports higher-density rack deployment without requiring a separate standalone decoder and power supply for every channel.
SRT and Multi-Protocol IP Decoding
Beyond NDI, the module supports RTSP, HTTP, HLS, RTMP Pull and Push, MPEG-TS over UDP, SRT, and RTP, plus TVU workflows. These options allow one decoder platform to handle contribution, distribution, monitoring, and AV-over-IP sources.
Control Hub and HTTP API Management
Configure and monitor the decoder through the Modator chassis, Web UI, or Magewell Control Hub. HTTP APIs support integration with third-party control systems, while remote status information helps engineering and IT teams manage larger deployments from a centralized location.
Gigabit Ethernet HDMI SDI and Modator Connectivity
A Gigabit Ethernet interface receives NDI and supported IP video streams, while dedicated HDMI 1.4 and SDI outputs connect the decoded signal to downstream baseband equipment. USB Type-C provides a configuration interface for service and management access.
The rear Modator connection links the module directly to the Magewell Modator 2U chassis and supports hot-swappable installation for scalable rack-based systems.
