Product Overview
Magewell Pro Convert HDMI Plus Module is a hot-swappable HDMI-to-NDI encoder for Magewell Modator systems. It accepts HDMI sources up to 4096 × 2160 at 60fps in 4:2:0 or 30fps in 4:4:4 and 4:2:2, provides HDMI loop-through, and converts the incoming signal to NDI High Bandwidth for network distribution. Centralized management through the Modator chassis, Web UI, Control Hub, and HTTP APIs supports broadcast, live production, AV-over-IP, corporate AV, and high-density rack workflows.
4K HDMI Input for NDI Encoding
The HDMI input accepts signals up to 4096 × 2160 at 60fps with 4:2:0 sampling or 30fps with 4:4:4 and 4:2:2 sampling. Custom EDID configuration provides additional flexibility when integrating computers, cameras, switchers, and other HDMI sources.
NDI High Bandwidth Video Encoding
Real-time NDI High Bandwidth encoding converts the HDMI source for professional IP video distribution. Encoding supports 4:2:2 8-bit video with source-matched or custom output resolutions and selectable output frame-rate ratios.
HDMI Input with Local Loop-Through
HDMI loop-through allows the source to remain connected to a local monitor, router, or downstream device while the same signal is encoded for the network. The loop output supports the same maximum input formats, including 4K60 at 4:2:0.
Hot-Swappable Modator Chassis Module
The encoder installs directly into a Magewell Modator 2U chassis using the dedicated module interface. Hot-swappable architecture simplifies service and channel expansion while supporting higher-density rack installations with centralized power and management.
Custom EDID Scaling and Frame Rate
Custom EDID settings allow the encoder to accommodate different HDMI source formats. NDI output can use the source resolution or a custom resolution, while output frame rate can match the original or operate at one-half, one-third, or one-quarter of the input frame rate.
Control Hub Web UI and HTTP API
Configure and monitor the module through the Modator chassis, Web UI, or Magewell Control Hub. HTTP APIs support custom control-system integration, while real-time source and device information helps engineering teams manage larger deployments from a centralized location.
HDMI Input Loop-Through and Gigabit Ethernet
Dedicated HDMI input and output provide source connection and local loop-through, while Gigabit Ethernet carries the resulting NDI High Bandwidth stream onto the IP network.
A USB Type-C configuration port provides direct management access. The rear Modator interface connects the encoder to the Modator 2U chassis and enables hot-swappable installation within a modular rack-based system.
