Magewell Pro Convert HDMI Plus Module

Magewell Pro Convert HDMI Plus Module is a hot-swappable encoder module built for the Magewell Modator 2 RU chassis. It takes an HDMI source, provides an HDMI loop-through, and turns the incoming signal into a high-bandwidth NDI stream for network-based production and distribution.

The module accepts 4K HDMI signals up to 4096 × 2160 at 30 fps in 4:4:4 or 4:2:2, and up to 60 fps in 4:2:0. NDI High Bandwidth encoding reaches up to 2048 × 2160 at 120 fps, while Gigabit Ethernet carries the encoded stream and USB-C provides a direct configuration connection.

Why It Helps

When an HDMI source needs to join an NDI production network, this module handles the conversion inside the Modator chassis instead of adding another standalone encoder to the rack. The source can stay available locally through HDMI loop-through while the encoded feed moves onto the network.

The 4K input support gives engineers room to work with higher-resolution sources, while the NDI encoder can be set to match the source or use a custom output resolution. Frame rate can also follow the original signal or be reduced to one-half, one-third, or one-quarter when the workflow calls for it.

Once the module is in the chassis, setup can stay centralized. The Web UI and Magewell Control Hub provide access to deinterlacing, EDID settings, scaling, frame rate, aspect ratio, network configuration, firmware updates, and real-time device information without needing to pull the module from the rack.
