Product Overview
The Magewell Pro Convert HDMI Plus converts HDMI video into NDI High Bandwidth for professional IP-based production and AV-over-IP workflows. It accepts HDMI signals up to 4096×2160 60fps in 4:2:0 or 30fps in 4:4:4 and 4:2:2, while HDMI loop-through keeps the original source available for local monitoring or downstream equipment. Gigabit Ethernet, PoE, automatic input detection, DHCP, WebUI management, PTZ control, and tally support simplify deployment in live production, broadcast, streaming, and integrated AV systems.
HD NDI from 4K HDMI Sources
The converter brings existing HDMI sources into NDI-enabled IP networks. It accepts signals up to 4096×2160 60fps in 4:2:0 or 4096×2160 30fps in 4:4:4 and 4:2:2. Magewell positions the model for down-converting 4K HDMI sources into NDI High Bandwidth workflows.
HDMI Input and Loop-Through
HDMI loop-through lets the source continue to a local monitor, recorder, switcher, or other downstream device while NDI encoding takes place simultaneously. Input and loop-through support the same maximum 4K signal formats for flexible production integration.
Gigabit Ethernet with PoE
The 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet interface carries NDI video across standard IP networks. IEEE 802.3af PoE enables compatible network infrastructure to provide power and data through one Ethernet cable. DHCP support simplifies initial network configuration.
Very Low Latency Conversion
Magewell designs the Pro Convert platform for very low latency operation in real-time production environments. This makes it suitable for live switching, presentation, monitoring, streaming, broadcast, and interactive AV workflows.
Advanced Video Processing
Processing controls include deinterlacing, up and down scaling, frame-rate conversion, aspect-ratio configuration, and EDID management. NDI output resolution can follow the source or use a supported custom resolution to match downstream production requirements.
PTZ Tally and Remote Management
Compatible PTZ cameras can be controlled over NDI using VISCA and PELCO protocols. Mini-DIN 8 connectivity supports PTZ and tally integration, while WebUI, Magewell Control Hub, and HTTP APIs provide local, centralized, and custom control options.
