Magewell Pro Convert HDMI 4K Plus Module

Magewell Pro Convert HDMI 4K Plus Module is a hot-swappable encoder module made for the Magewell Modator 2 RU chassis. It accepts 4K HDMI 2.0 sources, keeps a local HDMI loop-through available, and converts the incoming signal into NDI High Bandwidth for IP-based production and distribution.

The module supports HDMI input and loop-through up to 4096 × 2160 at 60 fps in 4:4:4 8-bit. On the network side, it can encode NDI High Bandwidth up to 4096 × 2160p60 or 1920 × 1080p240, while Gigabit Ethernet carries the stream and USB-C provides direct configuration access.

Why It Helps

When a 4K HDMI source needs to join an NDI production network, this module keeps the conversion inside the Modator chassis instead of adding another standalone encoder to the rack. The HDMI loop-through also keeps the original source available for a local monitor or another downstream device.

The higher NDI encoding limits give engineers more room to work with demanding sources. A 4K signal can stay at 4096 × 2160p60, while high-frame-rate HD workflows can reach 1920 × 1080p240 when the production calls for it.

Setup can stay centralized once the module is installed. The Web UI and Magewell Control Hub provide access to deinterlacing, EDID settings, scaling, frame rate, aspect ratio, network configuration, firmware updates, and real-time signal information without pulling the module from the chassis.
