Product Overview
The Magewell Pro Capture HDMI 4K Plus is a one-channel HDMI 2.0 PCIe capture card for professional 4K video ingest. It accepts HDMI video with embedded audio at resolutions up to 4096×2160 60fps and connects directly to the host through PCIe Gen2 x4. Hardware video processing, HDR10 support, low-latency capture, and broad software compatibility make it well suited to broadcast, live production, streaming, recording, and AV integration.
4K60 HDMI Capture up to 4096×2160
HDMI video can be captured at resolutions up to 4096×2160 60fps. Supported high-frame-rate workflows also include 1080p capture up to 144fps. Actual capture performance depends on image resolution and available PCIe bandwidth.
HDMI 2.0 Professional Video Input
The single HDMI input supports HDMI 2.0 and DVI-D 1.0 sources. A 594 MHz HDMI receiver, adaptive equalization, and customizable EDID support professional source compatibility. Embedded HDMI audio can be captured alongside the incoming video.
PCIe Gen2 x4 Host Interface
PCIe Gen2 x4 connects the card directly to the production workstation. Magewell specifies approximately 1600 MB/s per-channel DMA bandwidth on PCIe 2.x systems. This provides a direct high-bandwidth path for demanding 4K capture workflows.
10-Bit Processing and HDR10 Support
Full 10-bit hardware processing supports scaling, cropping, deinterlacing, color conversion, aspect-ratio conversion, and frame-rate conversion. The HDMI input also supports HDR10 and compatible 8-bit, 10-bit, and 12-bit source signals.
Ultra-Low-Latency HDMI Capture
Magewell specifies an ultra-low-latency mode of 64 video lines. Partial-notification functionality is also available through the Capture SDK. This helps reduce delay in interactive production, monitoring, and custom processing applications.
Multiple Independent Capture Streams
Unlimited capture streams can be generated from the single HDMI input channel. Each stream can use independent cropping, aspect ratio, color format, resolution, frame rate, deinterlacing, and color-adjustment settings. One source can therefore serve several software requirements simultaneously.
