Magewell Pro Capture HDMI 4K is a one-channel professional PCIe capture card for HDMI video resolutions up to 4096 × 2160 with embedded audio. Its PCIe Gen2 x4 interface, high-bandwidth DMA engine, full 10-bit video processing, multi-stream capture, and ultra-low-latency operation support professional recording, streaming, visualization, live production, and custom video-processing workstations.
4096 × 2160 4K HDMI Capture
Capture professional HDMI sources at resolutions up to 4096 × 2160 through a dedicated HDMI input. HDMI 1.4 and compatible DVI-D 1.0 signals are supported for high-resolution cameras, computers, production systems, and visualization sources.
Embedded HDMI Audio
Digital audio embedded in the HDMI source can be captured alongside the video signal, simplifying professional recording, streaming, monitoring, and application workflows that require synchronized video and audio ingest.
Full 10-Bit Video Processing
Two onboard processing pipelines provide approximately 360 Mpixels/s each with full 10-bit processing. Hardware functions include cropping, scaling, deinterlacing, aspect-ratio conversion, color-space conversion, frame-rate conversion, color adjustment, and OSD composition.
High-Speed PCIe DMA
The PCIe Gen2 x4 host connection supports approximately 1200MB/s DMA bandwidth in PCIe 2.x systems and approximately 800MB/s in PCIe 1.x systems, providing the transfer performance required for high-resolution professional video capture.
Ultra-Low-Latency Capture
Ultra-low-latency operation is specified at 64 video lines, helping reduce delay between the incoming HDMI source and the host application. This supports monitoring, visualization, interactive production, and other latency-sensitive workflows.
Multiple Independent Capture Streams
Multiple capture streams can be generated from the single HDMI input with independent cropping, resolution, frame rate, aspect ratio, deinterlacing, color format, and color-adjustment settings for different applications.
HDMI Input and PCIe Gen2 x4
A dedicated HDMI connector accepts HDMI 1.4 and compatible DVI-D sources with resolutions up to 4096 × 2160. A 297MHz HDMI receiver supports professional high-resolution video acquisition with customizable EDID.
The PCIe Gen2 x4 host interface provides substantially more transfer bandwidth than standard x1 capture cards, supporting the higher data rates required for 4K capture and processing.
