Product Overview
The Magewell Pro Capture DVI 4K is a one-channel PCIe video capture card designed for professional DVI-D and HDMI source ingest. It supports single-link and dual-link DVI-D 1.0 as well as HDMI 1.4 signals, with input and capture resolutions up to 4096×2160. PCIe Gen2 x4 connectivity, 10-bit hardware processing, multiple capture streams, and broad software compatibility make it suitable for broadcast, AV, streaming, recording, and specialized workstation applications.
4K Capture up to 4096×2160
The capture engine supports input and capture image resolutions up to 4096×2160 pixels. Capture frame rates can reach up to 144fps depending on image resolution and available PCIe bandwidth. This provides flexibility for 4K and high-frame-rate workstation workflows.
Single and Dual-Link DVI-D Support
The DVI input supports both single-link and dual-link DVI-D 1.0 signals. Single-link signals are supported at pixel rates up to 165 MHz, while dual-link DVI signals can operate at pixel rates up to 330 MHz. This makes the card useful for professional and legacy DVI source systems.
HDMI 1.4 Signal Compatibility
The input also supports HDMI 1.4 signals through the DVI interface. Dual 165 MHz HDMI receivers, adaptive equalization, and customizable EDID help improve compatibility with connected sources. HDMI signal metadata and timing information can also be detected by the capture hardware.
Full 10-Bit Hardware Processing
Full 10-bit processing supports cropping, scaling, deinterlacing, aspect-ratio conversion, color conversion, and frame-rate conversion. Hardware OSD composition and color adjustment are also supported. Processing is handled directly by the card to support flexible capture workflows.
Ultra-Low-Latency PCIe Capture
Magewell specifies an ultra-low-latency mode of 64 video lines. Partial-notification functionality is available through the Magewell Capture SDK. PCIe Gen2 x4 provides a direct high-bandwidth connection to the host workstation for responsive professional video ingest.
Multiple Independent Capture Streams
Unlimited capture streams can be generated from the single input channel. Each stream can use independent cropping, aspect ratio, color format, resolution, frame rate, deinterlacing, and color-adjustment settings. One source can therefore serve multiple software requirements simultaneously.
