The Magewell Pro Capture Dual SDI 4K Plus is a two-channel professional 4K SDI PCIe capture card designed to ingest two independent high-resolution SDI sources. Each capture channel can accept single-link 12G-SDI, dual-link 6G-SDI, or quad-link 3G-SDI configurations, with input and capture resolutions up to 4096×2160. PCIe Gen2 x8, full 10-bit video processing, multiple capture streams, and low-latency operation make it suitable for broadcast, live production, streaming, recording, and post-production.
Dual-Channel 4K SDI Capture
Two independent capture channels allow two professional SDI sources to be ingested through one PCIe card. Input and capture resolutions are supported up to 4096×2160 pixels. This provides a compact solution for multi-camera and dual-source 4K production workstations.
12G 6G and 3G-SDI Multi-Link Support
Each capture channel can use single-link 12G-SDI, dual-link 6G-SDI, or quad-link 3G-SDI. The card automatically detects single-link, dual-link, and quad-link input configurations. This supports a wide range of professional 4K SDI equipment.
Full 10-Bit Video Processing
Two processing pipelines provide approximately 720 Mpixels/s of processing bandwidth each. Hardware functions include cropping, scaling, deinterlacing, aspect-ratio conversion, color conversion, frame-rate conversion, color adjustment, and OSD composition.
PCIe Gen2 x8 High-Bandwidth Capture
The card connects directly to the workstation through PCIe Gen2 x8. Magewell specifies approximately 1600 MB/s DMA bandwidth per channel on PCIe 2.x systems. This supports demanding dual-channel high-resolution capture and processing workflows.
Ultra-Low-Latency SDI Capture
Magewell specifies an ultra-low-latency mode of 64 video lines. Partial-notification functionality is also available through the Magewell Capture SDK. This supports responsive broadcast monitoring, production, and custom processing applications.
Multiple Independent Capture Streams
Unlimited capture streams can be generated for either input channel. Individual streams can use independent resolution, frame rate, cropping, aspect ratio, deinterlacing, color format, color adjustment, and OSD settings. Each SDI source can therefore serve multiple software workflows.
