Magewell Eco Capture Dual SDI M.2 Card

The Magewell Eco Capture Dual SDI M.2 Card is built for systems that need reliable dual-channel SDI capture in a very small footprint. It supports two SDI inputs at the same time and captures video up to 2048 × 1080 resolution using 2K, 3G, HD, or SD-SDI formats. Each input can also carry embedded audio, which is captured alongside the video and sent directly to your computer.

Because it uses an M.2 (PCIe 2.0) interface, this card is ideal for compact workstations, tablets, and other small form-factor PCs where full-size PCIe slots are limited or unavailable. It works with both Windows and Linux systems and is designed for true 24/7 operation, making it a solid choice for broadcast, control rooms, and always-on capture systems. A built-in LED indicator shows the card’s status at a glance, including idle state, signal lock, memory errors, or FPGA configuration activity. 

Beyond basic capture, the Eco Capture Dual SDI M.2 Card includes a powerful onboard video processing pipeline. It supports resolution scaling, image adjustments, and multiple output color spaces, all handled directly by the hardware for consistent performance. The card uses two native MMCX connectors and ships with MMCX-to-BNC adapter cables, so it integrates easily into standard SDI workflows without extra accessories.

For SDI-specific workflows, the card supports a wide range of professional standards, including SD, HD, 3G-SDI (Level A and B), and dual-link modes, with integrated cable equalization for long cable runs. It handles RGB and YCbCr color formats, supports 10-bit and 12-bit color depth, and can extract SMPTE metadata and up to eight mono audio channels at 48 kHz per input. Hardware timestamps ensure accurate audio-video synchronization, even when multiple cards are installed in the same system.

The onboard processing engine delivers up to 180 megapixels per second, enabling smooth cropping, scaling, deinterlacing, frame-rate conversion, and aspect-ratio control. Advanced DMA support, including SG-DMA and GPU-direct technologies, helps maintain high throughput with minimal CPU load. Multiple capture streams can be replicated from a single input, and multiple cards can be synchronized using Magewell’s SDK.
