Lynx Technik yellobrik AES Audio Embedder/ De-Embedder (Unbalanced AES)

The Lynx Technik yellobrik PDM-1284B AES Audio Embedder/De-Embedder (Unbalanced AES) is a flexible AES audio embedder and de-embedder for SDI video codecs up to 3Gbit. It has 75 Ohm BNC connections for unbalanced AES3id audio I/O. The rotary switches are used to select audio groups, and it is possible to embed and de-embed more audio groups by cascading modules together. The term "simultaneous embedding and de-embedding" refers to the module's ability to de-embed and output audio from the selected audio group before overwriting with new audio (if required). The module recognizes audio formats automatically and deactivates sample rate converters to preserve encoded bit streams such as DolbyE.

If no SDI input is provided, the auto black mode uses a black video frame. This enables the module to include audio even when there is no visual source available. If the module is used in an audio-only application, this mode is advantageous. For audio testing, a 1 kHz test tone generator is included.
