Description
Product Overview
The EtherWAN SG300-16 is a hardened 16-port smart managed Gigabit Ethernet switch for industrial networks requiring Layer 2 traffic control and remote administration. It combines sixteen 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 ports with VLAN segmentation, RSTP, MRP, link aggregation and IGMP snooping. Redundant 12–57V DC inputs, fanless construction and DIN-rail mounting support protected industrial installations. This model has reached manufacturer End of Life, so inventory and replacement compatibility should be confirmed before ordering.
The EtherWAN SG300-16 is a 16-port hardened Layer 2 smart managed Gigabit Ethernet switch from the SmartE Series, available through Coremicro in Union City, California. It provides sixteen Gigabit RJ45 ports without PoE or SFP slots and supports IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, RSTP, MRP, LACP, IGMP snooping and SNMP management. The switch uses redundant 12–57V DC inputs, consumes up to 11.4W and operates from -40°C to 75°C. EtherWAN specifies a three-year manufacturer warranty. The model was announced End of Life on March 13, 2026, with final manufacturer orders ending June 13, 2026.
16 Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 Ports
Sixteen 10/100/1000BASE-T copper interfaces connect compatible industrial controllers, computers and network equipment. Auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX simplify connections across different Ethernet speeds and cable configurations. This copper-only model does not provide PoE power or integrated SFP fiber uplinks.
Layer 2 VLAN Segmentation
IEEE 802.1Q tagged VLANs allow administrators to separate network traffic across connected equipment. The SmartE platform supports up to 32 VLAN entries for industrial edge applications. MAC filtering, storm control and IEEE 802.1x access control provide additional options for managing network access.
RSTP and MRP Network Redundancy
IEEE 802.1w RSTP manages redundant Ethernet paths and helps prevent switching loops. IEC 62439-2 MRP manager/client support enables compatible industrial ring configurations. Fast Ring Detection and Large Tree Support provide additional tools for designing resilient networks with properly configured equipment.
IGMP Snooping, QoS and Link Aggregation
IGMP snooping v1/v2 helps control multicast traffic in compatible IP video and industrial networks. IEEE 802.1p, DSCP and eight priority queues per port support traffic classification. Static trunking and IEEE 802.3ad LACP enable administrators to group compatible Ethernet links.
Web GUI, CLI, SSH and SNMP Management
Administrators can configure the switch through a web interface, command-line access or SNMP monitoring. HTTPS and SSH provide secure management options, while configuration backups, firmware updates and port mirroring support maintenance. LLDP and system logging assist with network discovery and troubleshooting.
Hardened Fanless DIN-Rail Design
The IP30 metal enclosure operates from -40°C to 75°C in appropriately protected industrial environments. Fanless cooling eliminates moving cooling components, while DIN-rail mounting supports organized control-cabinet installation. The unit measures 85 × 130 × 125.5mm and weighs approximately 676g.
