The EtherWAN IG5-16084RCS is a 28-port hardened managed Ethernet switch in the IG5 Rack Series, available through Coremicro in Union City, California. It provides 16 10/100/1000BASE-T(X) RJ45 ports, eight 100/1000BASE SFP ports and four 1G/10G SFP+ uplinks without PoE output. Its 128Gbps switching fabric and 95.23Mpps forwarding rate support high-capacity switching. Features include static routing, RIP v1/v2, OSPF v2, VRRPv2, EtherWAN Alpha-Ring and IEEE 1588v2 PTP. The RCS variant uses a single 100-240VAC power inlet. Its IP40 metal enclosure supports 1U rack mounting and operation from -40 to 75°C. EtherWAN lists a limited lifetime warranty subject to manufacturer terms.
16 Gigabit Ethernet Ports
Sixteen 10/100/1000BASE-T(X) RJ45 ports provide reliable copper connectivity for industrial controllers, monitoring systems, network appliances and other Ethernet devices. These standard data interfaces support Gigabit networking without delivering PoE power to connected equipment.
Eight Gigabit SFP Fiber Ports
Eight 100/1000BASE SFP interfaces provide flexible fiber connectivity for industrial network distribution and remote equipment connections. Compatible transceivers can be selected according to the required transmission distance, fiber type and network speed.
Four Dual-Rate 10G SFP+ Uplinks
Four SFP+ ports support 1G or 10G connections to compatible fiber backbones and aggregation switches. Combined with 128Gbps switching capacity and 95.23Mpps forwarding performance, they support demanding industrial network traffic and distribution requirements.
Advanced Layer 3 Routing
Static routing, RIP v1/v2 and OSPF v2 enable communication between supported IP network segments. VRRPv2 provides gateway redundancy, while a hardware routing table supporting up to 64 routes helps administrators organize industrial network traffic.
Network Redundancy and Precision Timing
EtherWAN Alpha-Ring supports fault recovery in less than 15ms under supported network configurations. STP, RSTP and MSTP provide additional redundancy options, while IEEE 1588v2 PTP supports synchronized communication across compatible industrial networks.
Hardened Single-AC Rack-Mount Design
The fanless IP40-rated metal enclosure supports 1U rack installation and continuous operation from -40 to 75°C. The RCS configuration uses one 100-240VAC power inlet, making it suitable for installations with a single AC power source.
