Its ARRI PL mount, Imperial focus marks and 270° manual focus rotation support professional focus pulling in a lightweight 709g aluminum-alloy housing with a titanium-tone finish. Model DZO-AR32PLI is the individual 32mm lens, not the three-lens Arcana kit. Wide cinematic framing without a bulky anamorphic setup.

It focuses to 0.48m / approximately 1ft 7in from the camera sensor plane and uses a 14-blade elliptical iris, 270° focus rotation and 52.26° iris rotation. Mechanical specifications include an 80mm front diameter, an M77 filter thread, M0.8 geared focus and iris rings, 80mm length and approximately 709g weight. Its ARRI PL mount and Imperial (feet) focus markings identify this variant. Arcana 45mm/75mm companion lenses, the three-lens hard case, camera adapters and external autofocus accessories are not included by implication.

The Arcana 32mm combines a hybrid anamorphic optical layout with 15 elements in 13 groups and a 43.3mm full-frame image circle. Its fixed 32mm focal length and T2.1 maximum aperture support wide environmental compositions and subject separation without treating the prime as a zoom. The 1.5× squeeze remains consistent from close focus to infinity, helping preserve facial proportions and simplifying a repeatable 1.5× de-squeeze workflow.

Elliptical 14-Blade Iris and Anamorphic Bokeh

2×-Style Oval Highlights from a 1.5× Anamorphic Lens

A 14-blade elliptical aperture gives out-of-focus point lights a distinctly elongated shape. DZOFilm describes a classic 2×-style bokeh character even though the true optical squeeze is 1.5×, not 2×. The T2.1–T16 iris range lets operators shape highlight rendering for night exteriors, interviews, product films and narrative scenes without misrepresenting the squeeze ratio.

32mm Close-Focus and Imperial Marks

Focus as Close as 0.48m with 270° Manual Travel

Unlike the range shown on family diagrams, the individual Arcana 32mm focuses to 0.48m / about 1ft 7in measured from the camera sensor plane. A 270° focus rotation and focus-distance marks in feet support controlled focus pulls, while the 52.26° iris travel provides manual exposure adjustment. Calibrate focus motors after changing camera adapters or follow-focus hardware.

Neutral Horizontal Anamorphic Flares

Light-Responsive Neutral Flares and Controlled Distortion

Front cylindrical optics and the hybrid design help limit the mumps effect and maintain stable 1.5× squeeze. Neutral anamorphic flares can take on tones from practical lamps, headlamps or other light sources instead of being restricted to a fixed blue streak. Evaluate flare direction, filtration and source position during camera tests; color and intensity vary with the scene.

Titanium-Tone 32mm Anamorphic Prime for Mobile Rigs

At approximately 709g / 1.56 lb and 80mm long, the Arcana 32mm is suitable for carefully balanced handheld, tripod and compatible gimbal setups. The chassis is aluminum alloy with a titanium-tone finish, not solid titanium. Check payload, lens clearance and accessories before placing it on a compact stabilizer or motorized camera platform.

80mm Front, M77 Filter and M0.8 Focus Gears

An 80mm front diameter, M77 / 77mm filter thread and M0.8 focus and iris gears support standard cinema matte boxes and compatible follow-focus motors. Shared mechanical dimensions across the Arcana family can streamline transitions to separately purchased 45mm and 75mm lenses. The native mount on this unit is ARRI PL; mirrorless camera use requires a suitable separately sourced adapter.

Shoot with the appropriate sensor mode and apply 1.5× horizontal de-squeeze during monitoring or in post-production. The final delivery aspect ratio depends on the original sensor aspect ratio and crop, not on the squeeze factor alone. Check full-frame coverage in the exact recording mode, set focus marks for the Imperial scale, and test flare behavior with practical lighting. Use proper PL-mount support, check rear clearance and recalibrate external focus systems whenever the rig changes.
