What is Immersive Video?

Compared with volumetric video, which requires complex camera arrays and virtual environments, immersive video provides a more accessible balance: high-resolution, high-frame-rate stereoscopic imagery that surrounds the audience while maintaining cinematic quality.

Optimized for Apple Immersive Video

The URSA Cine Immersive is designed to meet the unique requirements of Apple Immersive Video, the highest quality immersive format available today. This format, supported exclusively by Apple Vision Pro, features:

Dual Sensor and Lens System

At the core of the URSA Cine Immersive are two matched 58MP RGBW sensors. Each sensor is nearly square to capture the full 180° field of view both horizontally and vertically. The sensors are paired with 210° fisheye lenses spaced 64mm apart, mimicking the human eye’s interaxial distance for natural stereoscopic depth.

Together, the system records two synchronized 8K image streams at 90 fps. This results in much higher data rates than standard 4K recording, ensuring that every frame contains the resolution and detail required for immersive playback.

The lenses feature a fixed aperture of approximately f/4.5, while built-in ND filters provide up to 8 stops of light control, giving filmmakers flexibility in a wide range of environments without needing external accessories.

Professional Build and Workflow

The URSA Cine Immersive is built around a rugged magnesium alloy chassis with a carbon fiber polycarbonate shell for strength and portability. It integrates professional connectivity, including 12G-SDI, 10G Ethernet, USB-C, XLR audio, and high-speed Wi-Fi.

An included 8TB Blackmagic Media Module ensures high-speed recording of immersive footage, while the B-mount battery plate supports high-voltage professional batteries from IDX, Blueshape, Core SWX, BEBOB, and more. Power can also be supplied via an 8-pin LEMO connector with 12V or 24V sources.

A fold-out 5" HDR touchscreen monitor provides intuitive on-set control, playback, and monitoring, while bundled antennas ensure robust wireless performance.
