The Blackmagic UpDownCross 100G standards converter is engineered for modern IP broadcast facilities, live production trucks, and high-density post-production environments. It delivers 8 fully independent channels of simultaneous Up, Down, and Cross conversion — covering every SD, HD, and Ultra HD format up to 2160p60 — all through a single 100G Ethernet connection.

Built on native SMPTE ST 2110 transport, it integrates directly into managed broadcast IP networks, carrying 10-bit video, audio, and ancillary data with frame-accurate PTP clock synchronization. Dual 100G ports enable full SMPTE 2022-7 Seamless Protection Switching — continuously comparing RTP packet sequences across two independent network paths so your broadcast never drops a frame, even during a network failure.

A dedicated NMOS IS-04/IS-05 control port isolates routing traffic from your media network. Dual redundant AC power supplies and front-to-back quiet cooling make this a reliable 24/7 broadcast-grade workhorse. A front panel LCD, speaker, and headphone output let operators monitor video and audio directly on-unit. Available in 13 languages for global deployment.

How SMPTE 2022-7 Seamless Protection Switching works: Two identical media streams travel over separate 100G connections simultaneously. The converter compares RTP packets by sequence number in real time and reconstructs every frame from whichever packet arrives first — the switchover is instantaneous and totally invisible to downstream equipment.
