Blackmagic Design ATEM SDI Extreme ISO is a compact yet powerful live production switcher built for professional multi-camera workflows. With 8x 3G-SDI inputs, 4 program outputs, hardware streaming, and ISO recording, it packs advanced broadcast tools into a portable form factor.

Key Features for Professional Streaming

This switcher captures up to 9 H.264 video streams in real time, recording all eight clean feed inputs and the program output. It even creates a DaVinci Resolve project file, making it easy to clean up and re-edit your live show.

Each SDI input includes standards conversion and frame resync, allowing you to connect cameras and sources in different HD formats—up to 1080p60. That means you can mix broadcast cameras, computers, or even game consoles with no fuss.

Flexible Outputs and Control

The integrated control panel features dedicated buttons for switching, transitions, audio, streaming, and recording. On the rear, you’ll find SDI inputs and outputs, two stereo mic inputs, USB webcam output, and four independent SDI aux outputs.

Switch between inputs using cut or auto transitions. Effects include dissolves, dips, DVE pushes, and squeezes. The built-in DVE also supports picture-in-picture for presentations or commentary overlays.

Webcam and Streaming Support

Use the USB-C output to emulate a webcam and stream directly into Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, or any video software. For higher-quality live streaming, connect directly via Ethernet using the built-in hardware streaming engine. Simply select your platform, input the stream key, and go live to YouTube, Facebook, or Twitch.

You can also tether a 5G or 4G phone to the USB port for mobile data. The switcher charges your phone while using it as a data source—ideal for remote shoots or as a network backup.

Professional Audio Tools

The Fairlight audio mixer provides deep control over all audio sources, including SDI and mic inputs. It features a 6-band parametric EQ, limiter, compressor, expander, and more. Adjust audio levels via front-panel buttons or software, or mix live with compatible hardware faders.

Advanced ISO Recording

With direct recording to USB flash drives or SSDs, you get clean feeds of all eight inputs and program output as H.264 MP4 files. Use a USB hub for multi-disk support—recording continues automatically when one drive is full.

Each recording includes metadata, camera numbers, timecode, and media pool graphics, so you can easily relink in DaVinci Resolve for post-production. Re-grade shots, remix audio, or add graphics with ease.

Broadcast-Level Effects and Virtual Sets

Create polished productions with 4 chroma keyers, allowing green screen work for each input. Build virtual sets using still backgrounds and macros. The SuperSource processor gives you 4 extra DVEs plus a background, ideal for split screens or panel discussions.

Multiview and Custom Layouts

Activate multiview mode to monitor all inputs, preview, and program on a single SDI monitor. See audio levels, camera tally indicators, and status for recording and streaming. Customize up to 16 views.
