BirdDog O4 is powered by a high-end Sony 1/1.8" CMOS sensor and shoots in stunning 4K at 60 frames per second, with HDR support (REC.2020 color space) that brings out true-to-life highlights, deep contrast, and broadcast-level visuals.

Whether you're covering a massive stadium, a busy intersection, or a large place of worship, the O4’s 30× optical zoom (which extends to 60× in HD) plus 8× digital zoom lets you zero in on the smallest details. Even in low-light conditions, it holds up—thanks to a powerful 500-meter infrared laser emitter and smart IR cut filters that automatically switch the camera to a clean, clear monochrome night mode.

Built to withstand the elements, the O4 has a tough IP66-rated body that handles extreme temps from –40 °C to +60 °C. It even has a built-in heater to prevent fogging or condensation. Instead of relying on a wiper, it uses a special aerospace-grade hydrophobic glass coating to repel rain, dust, and grime—so it stays clean with minimal maintenance.

Connect to Everything

Connectivity-wise, this camera plays nice with pretty much any setup—IP, hybrid, or baseband. It’s got 12G-SDI, SFP+ fiber, PoE++ Ethernet, and supports simultaneous streaming over Full NDI, NDI|HX2/HX3, SRT, RTMP, and RTSP. If you’re using audio-over-IP, Dante AV-H can be enabled, and there’s even support for FreeD protocol if you’re doing AR/VR production.

AI Tracking

When it comes to movement, the O4 is incredibly smooth and precise. It offers a wide ±170° pan range and a –30° to +90° tilt range, with movement speeds from a slow, cinematic 0.05°/sec up to a rapid 90°/sec. You can save up to 255 preset positions. Plus, its built-in AI auto-tracking engine adjusts on the fly—fast movements for sports, slower pans for events, and laser-focused tracking for surveillance.

Weighing in at 7.6 kg and measuring 200 × 330 × 226 mm, it installs cleanly with an optional mounting system that hides the cables for a neat, professional look.
