Product Overview
BirdDog PoE Adapter for MAKI Live (BDMKL-PA) is a clean way to run MAKI Live on wired Ethernet and power through the camera’s USB-C port. It’s a 1Gb RJ45-to-USB-C adapter that carries data plus PoE power (up to 10W) over a single connection.
The real benefit is reliability. Wi-Fi can be fine, until it isn’t. For permanent installs or long up-times, a hardline link is simply more predictable. Connect the adapter to a PoE switch (or injector), plug the USB-C into the camera, and it’s up. No pairing, no software, no extra steps.
BirdDog also handled the mechanical side correctly. The USB-C connection uses a screw-lock, and the loop-through cutout attachment adds strain relief so the dongle doesn’t get yanked loose and the camera port doesn’t take repeated stress. On carts, tripods, and ceiling drops, this is what prevents random disconnects.
