On set, the transmitter is the piece that lets the camera feed move away from the camera position without dragging a video cable across the floor. It provides HDMI input, 3G-SDI input, and an HDMI loop output, so it can fit into both HDMI and SDI source setups while still passing a local HDMI feed when needed.
