AJA DANTE-12GAM Audio over IP SDI Converter

The AJA DANTE-12GAM is a compact Audio over IP (AoIP) converter that bridges the gap between SDI signals and Dante audio networks. It embeds and disembeds audio between 12G-SDI and Dante, supporting up to 32 audio channels—16 in and 16 out. With dual etherCON GigE ports, it ensures reliable network integration and supports redundancy for mission-critical workflows.

This unit supports PTPv2, AES67, and SMPTE ST 2110-30 standards, offering seamless compatibility with modern IP-based audio systems. The DANTE-12GAM features one 12G-SDI input and one 12G-SDI output, each capable of carrying 16 audio channels. An internal SDI generator allows Dante audio to be transmitted even when no SDI source is connected.

For advanced workflows, the DANTE-12GAM can be upgraded to support a second SDI channel using an optional license and either a BNC or LC Fiber SFP. This expansion allows handling up to 64 Dante audio channels within the same form factor.

Setup is straightforward with AJA’s eMini-Setup utility via USB-C or the built-in web interface. A front-panel LCD screen and hardware buttons offer quick local control. The unit runs on a 12V power supply and supports PoE+ over the primary Ethernet connection.
