The Blackmagic Design DeckLink IP/HD 3G-SDI connects to both 3G-SDI and 2110 IP systems. It contains two capture and playback channels through RJ45 Ethernet to the 2110 IP, two direction customizable 3G-SDI connections, and a reference out. It is intended to operate with high-quality video, with capture and playback to common video formats such as Apple ProRes, DNxHD, or even 10-bit uncompressed video, and it supports 525i, 625i, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p video standards up to 1080p60.

SMPTE 2110 IP Channels
DeckLink IP cards are compliant with the SMPTE ST2110 standard for IP video, which specifies the transport, synchronization, and description of video, audio, and ancillary data for broadcast over managed IP networks. It also synchronizes video sources using a PTP clock. DeckLink IP supports uncompressed SMPTE-2110-20 video, SMPTE-2110-21 traffic shaping/timing, SMPTE-2110-30 audio, and SMPTE-2110-40 ancillary data. All video, audio, and ancillary data are conveyed independently over the network, which is a major advantage of SMPTE 2110. Plus DeckLink IP supports multicast, a highly efficient method of transmitting video, audio, and data from a single source to multiple destinations.

Built in Video Firewall
The issue with computers and 2110 IP video networks is that they are susceptible to malicious software and even hackers. Given that anyone can send data to the computer's Ethernet connection, this is the case. DeckLink IP, however, eliminates this issue because all video is transmitted using frame buffers. Comparable to a video-based firewall! This indicates that the DeckLink IP Ethernet port is isolated from all sources other than video and audio. Instead, the video and audio are transmitted to on-board DeckLink frame buffers, where video playback is managed and then converted to 2110 IP video channels, as with all DeckLink cards. This makes it impossible for malicious software or hackers to directly access the 2110 IP network!

4-Lane PCIe Connection
DeckLink IP devices have a PCIe connection to the host computer that is fast enough to support multiple HD video channels and simultaneous capture and playback on each channel. PCI Express provides extremely low latency and precise time synchronization with the software that is capturing or playing video. DeckLink IP cards are the only ones that provide this level of performance with a straightforward, low-cost 4-lane PCIe connection. This allows DeckLink IP to be installed on small, low-cost devices. In addition, DeckLink IP HD and DeckLink IP HD Optical are rack-mountable due to their low profile.

Supports all SD/HD formats up to 1080p60
DeckLink IP connections support all SD and HD formats as they are multirate. In addition, the DeckLink IP/SDI HD model incorporates both 2110 IP and 3G-SDI on the same card, allowing it to interface to both existing SDI broadcast equipment and new IP-based infrastructure. Alternatively, the 3G-SDI output can be used for local monitoring! DeckLink IP supports both 525i59.94 and 625i50 in standard definition. All 720p video standards up to 720p60, all 1080 interlaced standards up to 1080i60, and all 1080p standards up to 1080p60 are supported by DeckLink IP cards in high definition. In addition, there is no complicated transition because the cards can instantaneously switch to a new video standard.

10-Bit Broadcast Video Quality
DeckLink IP cards are built to accommodate video of the highest quality. Capture and playback to prominent video formats such as Apple ProRes, DNxHD, and 10-bit uncompressed are supported, so you are never limited to a single file type. 10-bit is the most popular television standard because it can depict colors with four times the accuracy of 8-bit video. Only working with 10-bit uncompressed video will ensure that every image is a perfect pixel-for-pixel clone of the original source, allowing you to always achieve the highest quality. This means you receive the finest green screen keying, VFX compositions, and color correction available.

NMOS Protocol
DeckLink IP supports the NMOS interface specifications, enabling all 2110 IP video devices to function as a single virtual router. As an NMOS controller, Plus Videohub Smart Control can route sources to destinations on 2110 IP networks. The NMOS interface specification defines the discovery and control of SMPTE 2110 devices such as DeckLink IP on IP networks. DeckLink IP supports IS-04 for the discovery and registration of IP video devices and IS-05 for the management of IP video device connections. This means you can connect sources and destinations within the Ethernet network just as you would with a conventional SDI router.

Compatible with All Popular Video Software
DeckLink IP supports all prominent video software, allowing you to utilize the tools you're already familiar with. DeckLink IP is ideal for employing DaVinci Resolve as a 2110 IP-based color correction and broadcast editing solution. Because DeckLink IP supports simultaneous capture and playback, you can use the live grading feature in DaVinci Resolve to simultaneously capture video, apply color correction, and output it! DeckLink IP is compatible with additional editing applications, such as Final Cut Pro, Media Composer, Premiere Pro, and more! Even spectacular visual effects can be created with Fusion, After Effects, and Photoshop. In addition, a Windows WDM driver is included!

Create Broadcast Automation Servers
DeckLink IP can be readily integrated into custom broadcast automation systems when remote operation of broadcast programming for a large broadcast network or a local television station is required. On the Mac platform, you can only use the following Tools On Air applications: Broadcast Suite, Softron OnTheAir, MovieRecorder, and OnTheAir CG. On the Windows platform, Vidblaster X, Studio and Broadcast, Uniplay, and Playbox AirBox are compatible! These potent software tools work with DeckLink IP to manage all types of broadcast automation duties, and they are proven solutions currently in use by thousands of television stations.

Build Streaming
DeckLink IP functions identically to other DeckLink cards, making it entirely compatible with popular video and audio streaming software. This means you can build streaming workstations that let you live stream to millions of global viewers online! On a Mac, you have access to excellent streaming solutions such as Open Broadcaster, Wirecast, and Livestream Producer, among others. Windows provides compatibility with Open Broadcaster, Xsplit Broadcaster, Wirecast, and Livestream Producer when streaming. DeckLink IP can convert any 2110 IP feed into live broadcasts for as many online platforms as necessary. Or with the ATEM Streaming Bridge, you can even link up remote broadcast networks.
