Blackmagic Design ATEM SDI Pro ISO Live Production Switcher

The Blackmagic Design ATEM SDI Pro ISO Live Production Switcher features real-time streaming and supports recording up to 5 video streams. This Live Production Switcher has an integrated control panel intended for multi-camera live streaming up to HD video to the internet via Ethernet output. The USB-C output lets you record both the program output and the individual 3G-SDI inputs to an external USB drive. The ATEM Mini Pro ISO records the embedded audio and analog audio inputs as well as the program stream and individual inputs, generating a DaVinci Resolve project file of your live stream. This allows you to bring your live production into DaVinci Resolve and make tweaks or adjustments using the source material on your USB drive. That is a completely clean feed of all inputs for Multicam editing! 

The ATEM SDI Pro Iso has the same portable design as the ATEM Mini, but it has SDI connections for connecting advanced broadcast quality cameras and recorders. This opens up an entirely new realm of ultra-portable live production. Because of the extremely portable design, you can fit an entire broadcast quality live production system in a small bag or even a backpack! You can use multiple cameras on location and live stream directly to YouTube, or you can use ATEM Streaming Bridge to create a broadcast quality link back to a studio. ATEM SDI Pro Iso, unlike single-camera remote shoots, allows you to connect multiple cameras to create interesting remote interviews with multiple camera angles.

Broadcast Quality Switcher on Its Own
The compact all-in-one design of ATEM SDI includes both a control panel and connections. The front panel includes simple buttons for switching between sources, video effects, and transitions. By selecting the cut or auto buttons, you can switch between cut and effects transitions. In contrast, to cut, the auto button instructs ATEM SDI to use a video effect when switching inputs. You can choose between exciting transitions like dissolve and more dramatic effects like a dip to color, DVE squeeze, and DVE push. Add a DVE effect to create picture-in-picture effects with custom picture positions and backgrounds. There are even "media players," which are still storage devices for titles and graphics that can be loaded using external software.

Connect up to four broadcast cameras
ATEM SDI allows you to connect multiple cameras to get different perspectives on the performance. Video cameras with SDI outputs, such as the Blackmagic Studio Camera or the Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2, are far superior in terms of quality because they have better low-light performance and use professional lenses. Even if the video sources use different video standards, they will all re-sync to the switcher. Incorporate Exciting Video Effects

When switching between sources, the cut button ensures an instant cut. The auto button is a professional term for enabling video effect transitions on large broadcast switchers. For video effects, duration buttons with 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2-second settings are available. You can also choose the type of effect, such as mix, which creates a smooth transition between sources, or dip, which fades through a color during the transition. Use Professional Microphones
Desktop and lapel microphones can be connected using the two independent 3.5mm stereo audio inputs. You can even connect a music player to play introduction music after the live stream starts but before the program begins. With two additional stereo audio inputs, you can ensure that both the host and the guest have lapel microphones when conducting interviews. All ATEM SDI audio inputs include panel buttons for adjusting audio level and enabling inputs into the audio mixer. Furthermore, all models include a Fairlight audio mixer with all SDI inputs and both microphone inputs connected, allowing live mixing from all of your audio sources. Converts Any SDI Input Format Automatically
Each 3G-SDI video input has its own independent standards converter. That means ATEM SDI will convert 1080p, 1080i, and 720p sources to the switcher video standard automatically! The switcher will automatically set its video format by default; however, you can manually set the switcher to any video standard! The SDI outputs are true "aux" outputs, allowing you to customize the source video routed to each SDI output independently. Because they include camera control and tally information, all outputs can be connected to cameras.

The built-in DVE on ATEM SDI, which allows for picture-in-picture effects and DVE transitions, is one of the most exciting features! With customizable 3D borders, shadows, and lighting, the DVE allows you to create professional picture-in-picture effects. The image quality is comparable to that of high-end ATEM switcher models, and the DVE supports the real-time position, resize, and scaling. The DVE can also be used to create amazing transitions with 16 different DVE squeeze and DVE push effects, which can be used to add excitement to your programming. The DVE includes a "fly key," which can be used in conjunction with custom graphics to create graphic wipe transitions!

Transitions in Professional Broadcasting
ATEM SDI includes a variety of broadcast-quality HD native transitions such as mix, dip, wipe, and others. All transitions can be personalized by changing parameters like duration, border color, border width, position, and direction. You can also use the DVE in transitions to allow a graphic to be moved over the wiping edge, which is commonly used in sports programming. ATEM SDI has a preview transition feature that allows you to check your transitions before they go live to eliminate errors.

Photoshop Plug-In for Built-In Graphics
The "media pool" feature allows you to load up to 20 separate broadcast quality RGBA graphics for titles, opening plates, and logos. The media player is used to output the chosen image as an additional internal video source for use in graphics and titles. Still frames can even be used for complex effects like graphic wipes. ATEM SDI can also capture video stills and save them to the internal media pool. Graphics can be loaded using ATEM Software Control or directly downloaded from Photoshop using the ATEM Photoshop plug-in. Because it can be downloaded directly into the media player, the Photoshop Plug-in is ideal for graphics that change frequently, such as scoreboards.

New ATEM Advanced Chroma Key
ATEM SDI is ideal for news or on-set presentation work because it includes the powerful ATEM Advanced Chroma Key for green screen keying effects. The chroma keyer is extremely powerful, with a color picker that allows you to sample background colors for the automatic generation of key parameters. You get a precise edge and flare controls, as well as a foreground color corrector to match the foreground and background layers for seamless compositions. Create graphics with a green or blue background and use it for title overlays. Furthermore, the ATEM SDI Extreme includes four separate ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers, allowing for a keyer per camera and virtual set production!

Switching Mix Effects in True Broadcast Style
Although ATEM SDI is shipped in "cut bus" mode, it can be switched to "program/preview" mode, which is how broadcasters typically use live production switchers. Cut bus switching is simple, and selecting any input will switch to that source immediately. However, if you want to operate ATEM SDI like a true professional, you can program/preview the switcher using ATEM Software Control settings. The mix effects operation allows you to select a source, but it will not be broadcast until you press the cut or auto buttons. That two-step program/preview process results in fewer errors.

Built In Audio Mixer
ATEM SDI's built-in Fairlight audio mixer allows for complex live sound mixing. The internal mixer has enough channels for each SDI input to mix audio from multiple sources! That includes audio from all SDI sources as well as the two stereo mic inputs. Each input channel has a 6-band parametric EQ and compressor, limiter, expander, and noise gate, as well as full panning. You can even configure the software to automatically mix between inputs as you switch "AFV" or to live mix multiple sources at the same time. All of this audio power can be managed with ATEM Software Control or by adding a Mackie-compatible panel.
