Stream and Record

Distribute the live feed and create local or network recordings using supported media.

Key Features

Magewell Ultra Encode AIO HDMI SDI input mixing for live video production

Multi-Input Processing

HDMI and SDI Video Mixing with PiP

Ultra Encode AIO can encode one selected HDMI or SDI input, or combine both video sources into a single picture-in-picture or side-by-side program. Operators can configure up to eight text, image or clock overlays on an encoding profile. This enables on-screen identifiers and simple branded output without adding a separate composition computer.

Magewell Ultra Encode AIO 4K30 video encoding settings and streaming features

High-Resolution Encoding

4K30 H.264 and H.265 Hardware Encoding

Encode HDMI or supported SDI sources in a main stream at up to 4096 x 2160p30, with a configurable sub stream up to 1080p60. The non-NDI HX3 video bitrate ceiling is 32 Mb/s; NDI HX3 has its own maximum of 62 Mb/s. HDMI input supports up to 4K60, but the encoded output is limited to 4K30.

Local File Recording

Record MP4, MOV or TS files to an SD card or external USB storage device.

Network Storage

Record to compatible NFS or CIFS network shares.

Recording Controls

Run normal or loop recording, configure schedules and manage recordings from the Web UI.

NDI HX3 and IP Production

Magewell Ultra Encode AIO NDI HX3 support for IP video production

NDI Video over IP

NDI HX3 Streaming for Network Video Workflows

Ultra Encode AIO supports both NDI HX2 and NDI HX3 for compatible networked production equipment and software. NDI HX3 offers an efficient transport option for IP video distribution, with a listed encoding bitrate up to 62 Mb/s. Magewell specifies one exclusive NDI HX3 streaming session, so the general six-session limit does not apply when HX3 is active.

Connectivity and Control

Video I/O

1 x HDMI input and loop-through; 1 x SDI input and loop-through (SD/HD/3G/6G).

Networking

Gigabit Ethernet, PoE+, Wi-Fi station/AP modes and support for an optional USB cellular modem.

System Control

1.9-inch LCD touch screen, browser-based Web UI, Magewell Control Hub and HTTP APIs.

Real-World Workflows

Sports and Events

High-Quality Live Streaming

Encode the HDMI or SDI program feed for supported streaming platforms and record the event at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Magewell Ultra Encode AIO used for?

It is a hardware encoder and recorder that converts HDMI or SDI video into supported IP streams for live events, remote contribution and AV production. It also records to compatible external media or network storage.

How does Ultra Encode AIO combine HDMI and SDI video?

It can select either input or combine HDMI and SDI sources in picture-in-picture or side-by-side layouts. The resulting single program can be encoded and delivered using supported protocols.

Does the Magewell Ultra Encode AIO support 4K60 streaming?

Its HDMI input accepts up to 4096 x 2160p60, but main-stream video encoding is limited to 4096 x 2160p30. SDI input is supported up to 4096 x 2160p30.

Can Ultra Encode AIO stream and record simultaneously?

Yes. It can run compatible streaming and recording tasks together and save files to an SD card, USB storage or compatible NFS/CIFS network storage. External recording media must be supplied separately.

Is Ultra Encode AIO compatible with SRT and NDI HX3 receivers?
