The Atomos A-Eye HD-20X PTZ Camera combines Full HD capture, AI-powered subject tracking, 20x optical zoom and IP video connectivity for operator-light production. HDMI, 3G-SDI and Ethernet outputs fit broadcast, corporate communications, education AV and streaming workflows without forcing the system into one transport standard. PoE+ can carry network connectivity and power to fixed installations over a single Ethernet run. One camera can move between conventional baseband and networked production without rebuilding the signal path.

Key Features

Atomos A-Eye HD-20X Full HD PTZ camera in a professional live production setup

Full HD PTZ Camera

1080p60 PTZ Camera for Live Production

Full HD PTZ camera output up to 1080p60 gives production teams a practical format for broadcast, streaming, lecture capture and installed AV. The 1/2.8-inch CMOS sensor provides 2.07 million effective pixels, while progressive and interlaced HD formats support integration with a range of existing systems. Minimum illumination is rated at 0.5 lux with F1.8 and AGC enabled.

20x Optical Zoom

20x Optical Zoom for Detailed Remote Framing

A 20x optical zoom lens gives operators useful reach for classrooms, worship spaces, meeting rooms and live events. The lens covers 4.42mm to 88.5mm with an F1.8 to F2.8 aperture range, backed by up to 16x digital zoom when additional reach is required. Operators can move from room-wide compositions to speaker close-ups without relocating the camera.

Atomos A-Eye HD-20X PTZ features with 1080p60 AI tracking and remote control

AI Tracking PTZ

AI Auto Tracking for Operator-Light Production

AI auto tracking helps keep a moving presenter or subject framed when a dedicated camera operator is unavailable. Pan travel reaches ±170 degrees and tilt covers -30 to +90 degrees, with 255 stored preset positions available for repeatable shots. That combination is useful for education AV, corporate presentations, houses of worship and solo content production.

NDI HX3 IP Video

NDI HX3 PTZ Connectivity for IP Production

NDI HX3 IP video support sits alongside RTSP, RTMP/RTMPS, SRT, ONVIF, HTTP, TCP/IP and multicast networking. Physical video connectivity includes 3G-SDI and HDMI, while PoE+ 802.3at can simplify permanent camera installations by carrying power and network connectivity over Ethernet.

Camera control is available through IP plus RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces using supported VISCA and serial control methods. Atomos notes that NDI HX license activation may be required, so confirm licensing requirements for the planned deployment.

Real-World Workflows

Atomos A-Eye HD-20X PTZ camera for corporate communications and presentations

Corporate Communications

Remote Camera Coverage for Meeting Spaces

Use preset positions for podiums, presentation screens and seating areas, then recall them as the meeting changes. AI tracking can reduce operator workload when presenters move around the room.

Atomos A-Eye HD-20X PTZ camera for education AV classroom lecture capture

Education AV

PTZ Camera Workflow for Lecture Capture

Cover an instructor, whiteboard or classroom presentation from a fixed camera position. Network video, remote PTZ control and PoE+ make the camera suitable for repeatable lecture capture installations.

Atomos A-Eye HD-20X AI tracking camera for creators livestreaming without an operator

Content Creation

AI PTZ Camera for Solo Livestream Production

Creators can combine AI tracking with preset framing when working without a camera operator. HDMI, SDI and network outputs also make it easier to move the camera between streaming, switching and recording environments.

Who It's For

Broadcast Teams

Add remotely operated HD camera positions with 3G-SDI, HDMI and IP video options.

Houses of Worship

Cover stages, lecterns and musicians from fixed mounting locations without adding camera operators.

Education AV
