The Cubelet 205/305 HDMI Encoder with HD-SDI Decoder from Teradek bundle offers an HDMI input / HD-SDI output and features a hardened aluminum chassis, low power consumption and a variety of network connectivity options. This bundle provides an affordable high definition end-to-end streaming video solution that eliminates the need for PC-based decoding. The 205/305 bundle is particularly useful for filmmaking, ENG and Pro AV applications.
A pair of Cube encoders and decoders is called a Cubelet. Cubelet is capable of very low latency (3-4 frames) and provides an easy to use point-to-point streaming solution. Both units are paired and will automatically connect with one another over an ad-hoc or Wi-Fi network.
Cube-205 HDMI Encoder
The new Cube 205 is a camera-top wireless HD video encoder that connects with HDMI cameras. The unit streams via Ethernet or a single 3G/4G USB modem. The Cube 205 includes all of the same great features of the original Cube such as a compact aluminum chassis, comprehensive transport protocol support like RTP/RTSP/RTMP/MPEG-TS and an HDMI input.
Cube 305 HD-SDI Decoder with Ethernet
The Teradek Cube 305 HD-SDI Decoder with Ethernet makes up an HD video transmission solution with any Cube Encoder that streams by wired Ethernet (such as Cube 105). Cube 305 receives the stream with embedded audio over Ethernet, decodes it, and outputs it in the widely-used, edit-ready H.264 codec to switchers, professional monitors and other equipment via an HD-SDI output. H.264 is also a popular codec for uploading files to the internet. An alternative to receiving a stream by Ethernet, Cube 305 can receive by an optional 3G/4G USB modem, which would install into a USB port positioned right beside the Ethernet port. A MicroSD card slot enables saving the received stream in addition to outputting it, and an OLED display on the side communicates transmission status and other data.
Teradek 205/305 Wireless A/V Features
• OLED: Cube's new OLED enables users to rapidly change and review the settings of their unit in addition to providing real-time feedback for filenames, recording status and wireless connectivity. No longer are computers or iPads needed for configuration; every feature is a simple click away
