The HXR-NX5R is ideal for a corporate video to education, live events to weddings. Moreover, the NX5R shoots at NTSC broadcast frame rates from 59.94 to 23.98. The built-in Wi-Fi and FTP wireless connections enable you to send footage to your editor from the camera while on location, instead of having to send the media cards to the editor.
In addition, the legacy codec support allows you to shoot and subsequently edit your footage into older projects shot on AVCHD or even DV formats. It incorporates a 3G-SDI output that supports Full HD 1920 x 1080p video at 59.94 fps, as well as 1080i, 720p, and 720 x 480i.

Rich color Imagery
The NX5R offers the latest generation imaging performance, with Full-HD progressive image capture rather than the interlaced output of the original HXR-NX5. Its three 1/2.8-type Full HD Exmor CMOS sensors provide 2.07 million effective pixel count at the 16:9 aspect ratio. Red, blue, and green light are independently captured by separate image sensors, contributing to high resolution, high sensitivity, and wide dynamic range. An advanced LSI (featuring intelligent noise reduction, enhanced detail reproduction, and distortion correction technologies) delivers remarkably lifelike images.
Built-in LED
An easily adjustable brightness LED video light is positioned just above the camcorder’s built-in microphone, providing convenient illumination for a wide range of shooting situations and minimizing the need to carry external lighting equipment. Illumination is approximately 200 lux/1m (approx. 800 lux/0.5m) with a beam angle of 30° and a color temperature of approximately 5500K. An external microphone connected via the XLR connector may cast a shadow if used simultaneously with the built-in LED video light.
Networked Interface

The 20x optical zoom range will easily cover most shooting situations, but when more reach is required, Sony’s advanced Clear Image Zoom employs Super Resolution Technology to double your optical zoom up to 40x while still delivering exceptional image quality.
