Matrox MXO2 with Max - Thunderbolt gives you all the features of a high-quality capture card and a breakout box with professional audio and video connectivity. It's got connections for both professional audio and video, including an input and output each for HD HDMI, component video, composite video, and Y/C (S-Video); for audio, there's dual XLR ins and outs as well as stereo analog audio I/O. In addition, you've got an HD/SD-SDI input and two such outputs. Your options for high-quality monitoring couldn't be more versatile. And of course, this MXO2 box includes a Thunderbolt adapter, which supplies the blazing-fast connection to a computer for a data transfer rate of up to 10 Gb/s.

Along with broadcast-quality audio & HD video input and output, the MXO2 provides calibration controls that include blue-only. You also benefit from a wide variety of HD and SD workflows with Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro thanks to Matrox MXO2's 10-bit hardware up/down/cross-conversion scaling engine and support for a wide variety of file-based formats and industry-standard codecs.

Matrox MAX is a unique technology that implements faster than real-time H.264 encoding for resolutions ranging from iPod to HD. It uses a dedicated hardware processor to accelerate the creation of H.264 fi les for Blu-ray, the web, and mobile devices. By using specialized hardware acceleration, jobs are finished with amazing speed and system resources are liberated for other tasks. Quality and flexibility are ensured through direct integration with professional applications such as Apple Compressor and Telestream Episode on the Mac, Adobe Media Encoder and Adobe Premiere Pro on the PC.

For example, you can select any video and audio source connected to the MXO2 inputs as your A/V sources for use with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder, scale the incoming video to the streaming format that you want using the MXO2 hardware scaler, and stream the live video and audio to a public distribution website or your dedicated IP hosting site.
  • Matrox RT technology is now supported on all MXO2 products, with or without Matrox MAX technology. This means that MXO2 users without Matrox MAX or a CompressHD card can now take advantage of Matrox RT technology for real-time Matrox effects and acceleration of many Adobe Premiere Pro effects.
  • Matrox WYSIWYG support for the 64-bit version of NewTek LightWave 3D 9.6, and the 32- and 64-bit versions of LightWave 3D 10.
  • Improvements to the Matrox MAX H.264 Capture application, and this application is now supported using MXO2 hardware with a Matrox CompressHD card.
  • New Matrox MAX H.264 presets are available for encoding in Adobe Media Encoder, Premiere Pro, and Encore, and for capture using the Matrox MAX H.264 Capture application.
