The Lynx Technik yellobrik OTX 1712-LC Analog Sync/Video Fiber LC Optic Transmitter is a fiber optic transmitter with analog sync or NTSC/PAL composite video. This technology is specifically developed to overcome the limitations associated with the long-distance dissemination of broadcast quality analog reference and composite video signals. When combined with the fiber optic receiver ORX 1702, this optical transmission method for analog sync reference signals or NTSC/PAL composite video is particularly cost-effective. This device is very important for distributing reference sync across faraway installations in order to ensure proper synchronization. The OTX 1712 features technologies to ensure a very high degree of sync and burst phase stability during the conversion and fiber transmission, unlike other relatively basic analog-to-fiber conversion solutions.

Before being transferred to fiber, the module converts the NTSC/PAL visual stream to an SDI signal (containing reference and other essential information). As a result, when the OTX 1712 is used with NTSC or PAL video sources, the fiber signal can be converted straight to SDI using an SDI receiver if necessary (e.g. ORX 1802). The OTX 1712  has a passive loop output and can connect to LC, ST, or SC single mode fiber. There is also an LC version appropriate for multimode fiber.
