The Lynx Technik yellobrik ORX-1702-LC Analog Sync/Video Fiber Optic Receiver is a small analog sync or NTSC/PAL composite video to fiber optic receiver. This technology is specifically designed to overcome the limitations associated with the long-distance dissemination of broadcast quality analog reference and composite video signals. When combined with the fiber optic transmitter OTX 1712, you get a very cost-effective optical transmission solution for analog sync reference signals or NTSC/PAL composite video. This device is particularly important for distributing reference sync across faraway installations in order to ensure proper synchronization. Unlike other extremely basic analog-to-fiber conversion solutions, the ORX 1702 integrates technologies to preserve a very high degree of sync and burst phase stability throughout fiber reception and analog conversion.

The module receives an SDI signal (containing reference and other important information) before converting it to an analog signal. As a result, when the ORX 1702 is utilized with 525 or 625 SDI video sources, the data can be converted straight to an analog NTSC or PAL composite output. For example, suppose the 525 or 625 signal is received from an SDI video transmitter OTX 1812. The ORX 1702 has two analog outputs and supports LC, ST, or SC single-mode fiber connections. An LC variant suitable for multimode fiber is also available.
