AJA BRIDGE LIVE with New NDI® and HLS Compatibility

AJA Announces the Release of BRIDGE LIVE v1.12 with NDI® and HLS Support.

Grass Valley, California (14 September 2021) – AJA Video Systems today announced the release of BRIDGE LIVE v1.12, a new software update for AJA's turnkey multi-channel live video production, contribution, collaboration, streaming, and delivery solution. The latest release includes bidirectional NDI® (Network Device Interface) input, output, and transcoding; HLS output; video preview; and updated user interfaces for easier configuration.

Whether facilitating remote production, two-way interviews, live event streaming, multi-cam backhaul, field contribution, program return, confidence monitoring, collaborative production, or hand-off of ABR ladder profiles for OTT packaging, BRIDGE LIVE v1.12 introduces significant new functionality. The bidirectional NDI support simplifies the process of encoding SDI inputs for NDI output to the network and/or receiving NDI for SDI output. Additionally, the ability to convert IP Video Streams to NDI and/or NDI Inputs to IP Video Streams opens up a slew of new workflow possibilities. For example, BRIDGE LIVE can now be deployed at the edge of an NDI event or facility network, allowing professionals to stream outbound NDI video and/or return the stream to NDI for use at a remote NDI production destination.

BRIDGE LIVE v1.12 BRIDGE LIVE highlights are the following:

• Conversion of NDI to SDI in both directions:
  • Receive NDI and decode to SDI
  • SDI to NDI input and encoding
• Conversion of bidirectional NDI-IP video streams:
  • Receipt of NDI data and conversion to IP Video Streams (i.e., H.265, H.264)
  • Receipt of IP Video Streams (H.265, H.264) and conversion to NDI
  • Using RTP/UDP/SRT, integrate remote NDI and non-NDI equipment/facilities.
  • Connect directly to the NDI network and act as a conduit for content delivery networks (CDNs) or other delivery mechanisms.
• HLS Output (HD):
  • Input SDI sources and IP Video Streams into BRIDGE LIVE and encode them for distribution to commonly used devices and software, or for remote screening to iOS and iPadOS devices via HLS.
• Video Preview
  • Video thumbnails to the BRIDGE LIVE GUI for SDI Inputs, you can now visually confirm that the SDI input/content is correctly encoded, even if you are unable to "go live" to check the content for security.
• UX improvements:
  • Explore more intuitive pipeline configuration and options such as “start detecting input” and “set as input” buttons, and enhanced responsiveness
