Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Shuttle 2 by Blackmagic Design is an affordable and portable disk recorder that use battery powered as the power supply. Thus, this recorder is perfect for any type of condition. All files that are recorded by this recorder is in the uncompressed QuickTime and compressed Apple ProRes 422 HQ or Avid DNxHD MXF file formats. Users can have the access to bypass the compression in the camera to record from SDI and HDMI into the SSD. Thus, users can do the editing process from the SSD media easily.
This Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Shuttle 2 allows users to have freedom to work in both files type: uncompressed and compressed. This product work with the ProRes or DNxHD MXF compressed video files. On the front panel, there are some useful and friendly-to-use buttons: transport control, display button, power button, video status indicator, SSD status indicator, and battery level indicator. As of the rear panel, there are +12V power supply connection, HDMI connection, SDI In and Out connections and Mini USB 2.0.

With this additional device, camera rig and Shuttle 2 can be securely attached to cold shoe mounts, rail mounts, articulated arms and other options.
Having Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Shuttle 2 and the Mounting Plate at the same time allows users to power the Shuttle 2 from the external battery; simply attaching it the Anton Bauer or V-Mount battery plate. The both power supply for the Shuttle 2 has the rechargeable internal Li-ion battery and a 12V DC power input.
